I knew I was dreaming and I was just waiting for Jill or Joel to ring my phone or poke me in the side. This day had been one of the most interesting. First Bryan wanted me to come home to spend time with him. He called me while I was away in Ohio. Then it was like God flipped it on me and said, “Okay, let’s do something else amazing.” Well this was certainly amazing. I was in a taxi headed to a hotel in Daisey Town, Ohio, to spend only Lord knows how long with Bling Bling. So I must be dreaming because shit like this did not happen to Kylo Case. I would call it a setup but nobody knew that I’d decided to stay in Ohio overnight, and even if they did, nobody could plan to reroute a damn plane. So I must be dreaming. I heard my name being called from a distance. Somebody was poking me in the arm to wake up. See it was a dream. Damn, damn, damn! I woke up anyway.
“Okay, I’m awake. Damn!” Before I could focus, I heard that voice.
“Ay, wake up. We’re here.”
“Huh?”
“It was only a few minutes, boo. You must be really tired. So you’re not cooking tonight, huh?” he said, smoothing my hair down.
I focused, and yes, it’s Bling Bling! I wasn’t dreaming after all. However, this might be a dream within a dream. Was he smoothing my hair down?
“Yes, I’m too tired to cook tonight, Kevin.” I grabbed my wallet out of my purse. “Oh, yeah I got this. How much?” I wanted to pay for the taxi to show my appreciation. He didn’t have to allow me to stay in his room.
The taxi driver said, “Seven dollars.” I gave him a ten-dollar bill and walked into the hotel behind Bling Bling. I must have felt really comfortable with him because I was knocked out. Before I could focus well, someone was taking pictures of Bling, and the flash caught me in the eyes. I lowered my head. It was like a circus inside of the hotel. People wearing Bling Bling T-shirts, baseball caps, and I heard a few of his raps in the background. It was like a Bling Bling jamboree, camera people and fans everywhere. It was snowing outside. The girl at the ticket counter must have called everybody she knew. Bling grabbed me by the hand and damn near dragged me with him to the counter. I guess that was for the best because I was having a deer-in-headlights moment. An older lady at the counter greeted us with a smile, directing her attention to Bling.
“How are you this evening, sir?”
“Good. You?”
She replied, “I’m blessed.”
“How’d all these people get in here? Can you do something to clear this joint out? We’re tired, and we’d like to get some sleep tonight,” Bling said, sounding a little agitated. He refused to sign several autographs as we approached the counter.
“I’m sorry about the crowd, sir. It just happened. Someone said an entertainer is staying at this hotel, and it’s gotten out of control. Security has been alerted. We never get celebrities in this little town. What is your name, please?” Great. This lady didn’t even know who Bling was. At least we could check in without fan drama. Bling asked me to put the room in my name, and of course I did.
“Do you have any two-bedroom suites?” I asked. “We also have a voucher from the airport.”
“No, ma’am. We have one king-size room left. It has a kitchenette, a sofa and a king-size bed. This room is also known as our honeymoon suite.”
“The honeymoon suite? What kind of bathroom does it have?”
Bling started to get impatient. “Shorty, does it really matter? It’s the only room they have, and we don’t have another option. Come on, boo, let’s get this done.”
I looked at him. His thick brows were about to touch and his forehead was wrinkled. Bling was getting pissed with me. Oops! I pouted.
“I’m sorry,” I said and turned to the attendant. “Okay, what else do you need?”
“I’ll need a major credit card, a picture ID and the voucher please.”
“Here ya go.” I gave her my American Express and my driver’s license. I forgot to get the voucher from Bling. I turned around and asked him for the voucher. “Hey, Kev, do you have that voucher they gave you at the airport?”
He dug down in his pocket to find the voucher and a fan approached him— of course it was a female fan. He replied, “Yeah, I got it right here.” He passed me the crumpled voucher and turned around to acknowledge the fan. I kept looking back at them— I couldn’t help it. I didn’t want to look jealous or anything, but he knew I was curious about his fans— well those bitches anyway. She was aiight. She was a deep dark chocolate, a little darker than Bling. She had a big beautiful smile.
All the women after Bling Bling tonight had much ass. I still got one up on ’em. I was with the man. I knew I would at least have the rest of the night to get to know him. I also have a nice ass, and it’s all in proportion. Anyway let me get my shit so we can go to our room. I heard the girl talking to Bling. She said she was his biggest fan. Imagine that. She wanted him to autograph her address book and asked him to include his phone number. He laughed. I don’t know whether he gave her his number or not.
I wish this lady would hurry up so we can get to our room! Was I getting jealous? I wondered why. I mean I don’t even like rappers, and it wasn’t like he was flirting. He was just
